The Illumina NovaSeq 6000 is a high-throughput DNA sequencing system that uses a “sequencing by synthesis” method to read the order of nucleotides in billions of DNA fragments in a single run. It can sequence entire genomes, exomes, or transcriptomes, and its scalable design allows it to handle a wide range of applications and sample outputs, from a few samples to dozens of whole human genomes per run. This system is used in research and clinical settings for applications like genetic analysis and disease research.
